The Google Model

This book shows how Google and companies like it have reinvented common practices in management to provide continuous and discontinuous innovation in fast-changing industries. It describes six core management principles, and provides several practical applications related to how leadership, culture, organizational structure, people, recruitment, and so on can be designed based on these principles, thus contributing to the company’s innovation. This second edition, while still encompassing the observations and analysis featured in the first edition from 2014, examines Google in 2023 and compares Google 2023 with 2014. The conclusion in both the first and second edition of this book is that the future favors companies that migrate to a new management model, better suited for the 21st century, characterized by new digital technologies such as AI. This book is meant to be a guide for management, unions, and public officials in providing companies with sustainable management procedures in a rapid, ever-changing world. The book also acts as a good complement to any organization interested in the innovation standard ISO 56001.
