Partizipation als Programm

How can children and teens, particularly those who grow up under precarious conditions, be provided with the opportunity to participate in theater, dance and performance art? This is where the "Ways to the Theater!" project, which ASSITEJ (International Association of Theater for Children and Adolescents) has run as part of the program "Culture Empowers. Alliances for Education" between 2013 and 2017 comes in: Children and teens are provided with access to theater projects in their social environments; they experience and conquer the stage, contributing their own ideas. The contributors to this volume present the practical experiences, issues and insights gained from the project to the general public while exploring how theater art is positioned in the politics of culture, juveniles and education.
