Visuelle Geographien

Not the image, but its use stands at the center of this volume, which systematically discusses the conceptual and analytic exploration of the relationship between image and space, opening up a critical, reflexive perspective of visually mediated spatial concepts and allocations. The contributions provide substantial input on the translation and translatability of visual influences and deal with the questions of which meanings and which shapes visual geographies take on in mediation (in the media, in the classroom, and in the practice of viewing), how they should be designed, and how they control us.
