Produktbeschreibung

The conference "Stadt.Land.Wohnen. Regionale Wohnungsmärkte zwischen Boom und Krise" took place from 6 to 7 November 2023 in Salzburg. This was a collaborative project, organised by the Institute for Urban and Regional Research (OeAW) and the Department of Sociology and Human Geography (Paris Lodron University of Salzburg). The aim of the event was on the one hand to discuss the current challenges facing the housing markets with specific regard to regional differences. Topics such as housing price bubbles, affordability, precarious living and crowding-out processes have so far only been tackled from the point of view of large towns or at the national level. By contrast, this event aimed to bring regional aspects of habitation to the forefront. A further goal of this event was to establish stronger networking within the field of research into the housing market in Austria, which spans a wide area, both literally and in terms of the disciplines involved. For this reason an open design was adopted for the conference topics, based not on boundaries between disciplines but rather on current topics and issues in research on the housing market. The two-day event was aimed at scientists, master's and doctoral students, post-docs and practitioners in the field who have to tackle various aspects of the dynamics of regional housing markets. This collective volume comprises lectures from all six sessions of the conference: "Precarious living, homelessness and inclusion", "Vacancies in the housing market: findings and strategies", "Methods for analysing the housing market", "Dynamics in regional housing markets", "Public benefit" and "Local responses to the housing market crisis".
