The Conflict between Patient Autonomy and Medical Ethos': The discourse on a patient’s right not to know, which is based in the areas of bioethics and medicine, is rapidly gaining considerable importance on the level of (health) law. In a systematic review of the topic from a legal perspective, the author puts the right not to know into its - national and international - legal context and develops an approach for its legally binding implementation into the treatment contract between doctor and patient.
