The topic was chosen because of its importance and originality. The relationship between philosophy and Jewish thought is still little researched. And if it is, then a historical-reconstructive approach is usually chosen. The theoretical approach chosen in this volume represents a desideratum for both philosophical and Jewish studies. This focus on the theoretical enables a reassessment and recontextualization of the philosophical positions and traditions of the thinkers discussed in this book.

Each article in the volume focuses on a different thinker from a different philosophical tradition and traces the specific intersections between Jewish thought and philosophy in their works.
