Fragmenta

Artemidorus of Ephesos was a celebratedGreek geographer and his work repeatedly quoted by Strabo, Plinius and other ancient scholars. However, only fragments of the text survived and were finally edited by R. Stiehle in 1855. Then, some years ago, the so-called Artemidorus papyrus was discovered. Although some philologists argued against its authenticity, the papyrus seems to be genuine and provides us with new information on Artemidorus' work. The book presents the first modern edition of these fragments.
